Lexus ES 350h Debuts in India: Price, Powertrain, Features, Safety and More

The Indian division of the Japanese automaker Lexus has introduced the new generation ES 350h hybrid sedan in India with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 66.10 lakh. The new ES 350h is locally manufactured and gets a revised design, a new hybrid powertrain, a bigger touchscreen and the latest safety system from Lexus.

The Lexus ES 350h has debuted in the country in two variants - Exquisite and Luxury. The ES has been one of the company’s key models globally since 1989 and has also played a pivotal role for the brand in India. With the launch of the new ES 350h this sedan is now available with both hybrid and all electric versions. The ES 500e is the all electric iteration of this luxury sedan.

Lexus ES 350h: Price

The new Lexus ES 350h is offered in two variants. Here are the variant wise prices:

This new ES 350h isn’t merely a cosmetic update; the new generation ES has been completely redesigned and gets a larger footprint than its predecessor. Lexus has increased the wheelbase and width, while the taller profile is intended to improve cabin space and passenger comfort. The new ES sports the Signature L-shaped lighting elements that remain an important part of the exterior, while the rear gets a more refined treatment. The ES 350h is available with six colour options - White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, Graphite Black, SOU and Sonic Copper.

Under the bonnet, the ES 350h gets a new 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a newly developed hybrid system. The setup consists of a petrol engine, a new eAxle with the Power Control Unit integrated into the transaxle and a lithium-ion battery pack. The new lithium-ion battery is also more compact and lightweight while offering higher output than its predecessor. The petrol engine in the new ES 350h generates 139kW and the electric powertrain generates 119.1kW; it generates a peak torque of 237Nm.

On the inside the Lexus ES 350h adopts the Lexus Tazuna cockpit concept. The ES 350h sports a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car features, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM, Heads Up Display, ambient lighting, wireless charger, panoramic view monitor, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support and more.

On the safety front the new Lexus ES 350h gets active and passive safety features like - Lexus Safety System+ (ADAS), driver monitor, electronic door latch releases with Safe Exit Assist, 8-airbags, auto high beam, ISOFIX mounts and more.
