Mahindra is finally ready to bring its much-awaited Global Pik Up closer to production. The company has officially released the first teasers of the production-spec pickup truck, giving us a clear look at its exterior and interior ahead of its global debut on August 14. The model was first shown in concept form nearly three years ago and is expected to play an important role in Mahindra’s plans for international markets.
Key Highlights:
  • Mahindra has officially teased the production-spec Global Pik Up
  • The lifestyle pickup truck will make its global debut on August 14
  • It shares its underpinnings with the Scorpio N but gets a completely different rear section
  • Expected to rival the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross

Mahindra Scorpio-N Pik Up: Design

The Global Pik Up is based on the same new-generation ladder-frame architecture that underpins the Scorpio N, but it gets a substantially different body to transform it into a lifestyle pickup.
At the front, the pickup features a wide grille with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo. It is flanked by vertically stacked lighting elements and slim LED daytime running lights. Compared with the Scorpio N, the Global Pik Up has a wider and more muscular stance.
The side profile reveals a double-cab layout with a long cargo bed, prominent wheel arches, roof rails and large alloy wheels. The relatively long wheelbase also gives it the proportions expected from a global lifestyle pickup.
At the rear, the production version gets vertically positioned C-shaped tail lamps, a large tailgate and prominent Mahindra lettering. A horizontal light element below the rear glass further adds to its distinctive design.
Overall, the production model appears to retain much of the silhouette and rugged character of the original concept showcased in Cape Town in 2023.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up: Interior

Mahindra has also teased the interior of the production pickup. Unlike the Scorpio N, the Global Pik Up gets a significantly redesigned dashboard.
The highlight is a large, vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system placed in the centre of the dashboard. It is surrounded by chunky vertical air vents and metallic-looking trim. The cabin also gets a digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo.
The centre console houses a conventional automatic-style gear selector, rotary controller and several physical buttons. Earlier spy shots had also revealed brown leatherette upholstery, button-based HVAC controls and a six-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up: Expected Engine Specs

Mahindra has not yet revealed the complete specifications of the production-spec pickup. However, it is expected to share its powertrain options with the Scorpio N.
The pickup could be offered with the Scorpio N’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Six-speed manual and automatic gearbox options are also expected.
Four-wheel drive is likely to be one of the key highlights of the Global Pik Up. The concept was showcased with Mahindra’s 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system and a 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra Pik Up: Rivals

The new Mahindra pickup will enter the lifestyle pickup segment and is expected to compete with the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. However, unlike earlier Scorpio-based pickup derivatives, the Global Pik Up has been developed as a dedicated global product with a stronger focus on international markets.
With the production version now officially teased, Mahindra is finally moving the Global Pik Up from concept to reality. The company is expected to reveal more details, including its final name, engine specifications, features and pricing, at its August 14 event.
