Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG Secures 5-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests

The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG scored 29.36 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP). The latest rating builds on the safety credentials of the XUV 3XO, which received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating in November 2024.

Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG: Safety Features

The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG comes equipped with more than 35 standard safety features. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

The SUV also gets dedicated safety features for its CNG powertrain. An integrated gas-leak detection system automatically switches the vehicle to petrol mode if a leak is detected.

The system is designed to address safety requirements associated with the CNG fuel system while maintaining the SUV's existing safety equipment.

Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO ZNG in October 2026. The SUV produces 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque in both CNG and petrol modes.

The company claims a certified fuel efficiency of 24.7 km/kg. The XUV 3XO ZNG uses an underfloor twin-cylinder arrangement for the CNG system, allowing it to retain a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space. This packaging is intended to preserve luggage capacity while accommodating the CNG cylinders.
