Maruti Suzuki Records Marginal Growth in Domestic Car Sales for January 2026 As Exports Soar

The biggest carmaker in India, Maruti Suzuki has shared its passenger vehicle sales data for January 2026. The data shared by the automaker highlights that the company has witnessed a slight growth in domestic car sales, but on the other hand the company nearly doubled its exports last month.

Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the domestic market in India by leading car sales in the country. The monthly car sales data from Maruti Suzuki outlines that it sold over one lakh seventy four thousand units of passenger vehicles in January 2026.

Last month Maruti Suzuki managed to sell a total of 2,25,549 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure represents a rise in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 24,850 units which further translates into 12.38 percent growth in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In January 2025 Maruti Suzuki posted total passenger vehicle sales of 2,00,699 units.

In January 2026 Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 1,74,529 units of passenger vehicles in the domestic market. This sales figure represents a year-on-year increase in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 930 units which further translates into a 0.53 percent growth in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In January 2025 Maruti Suzuki posted domestic passenger vehicle sales of 1,73,599 units.

Last month Maruti Suzuki exported 51,020 units of passenger vehicles from India. This represents a year-on-year increase in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 23,920 units which further translates into a 88.26 percent year-on-year growth in monthly passenger vehicle exports. In January 2025 Maruti Suzuki exported 27,100 units of passenger vehicles.
