Mercedes-AMG GT Electric SUV Revealed with 1,169PS and 700 Km Claimed Range

Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled the GT SUV, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s first full-size SUV developed entirely in-house. Built upon the same technical architecture as the GT 4-Door Coupe, this new electric model is designed to blend high-performance capabilities with the practicality of a five-seater utility vehicle. The lineup will be structured into three distinct variants: the GT 53, GT 55, and the range-topping GT 63.
The vehicle features a commanding presence, measuring 5,084mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,040mm. Exterior design highlights include a vertical-slat grille and a prominent Mercedes star, both of which are available with optional illumination. At the rear, the design incorporates six circular tail-lamps, which can be complemented by an optional full-width light strip. For aerodynamic efficiency, the GT 55 and GT 63 models are equipped with an active rear spoiler that remains flush with the bodywork until the vehicle reaches 150kph.

Mercedes-AMG GT: Performance & Technical Specifications

At the pinnacle of the range, the GT 63 delivers a substantial 1,169hp and 2,000Nm of torque. According to manufacturer data, this configuration is capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in just 2.7 seconds. To manage this power, the GT 63 comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes. Tri-motor versions of the SUV include dedicated dials that allow the driver to adjust throttle response, cornering characteristics, and traction control settings to suit different driving conditions.
The vehicle is engineered for long-distance capability, with Mercedes-AMG claiming a WLTP-rated range of up to 700km on a single charge. Furthermore, the platform supports DC fast charging at rates of up to 710kW. Practicality is addressed through a 607-litre main boot, supplemented by a 78-litre front trunk, or frunk. Inside, the cabin is dominated by a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch central touchscreen, with an additional 14-inch display available for the front passenger as an option.
