Mercedes-Maybach has launched the exclusive V12 Edition of the S 680 sedan, limited to just 50 units globally. Unveiled in Italy, it serves as a contemporary homage to the historic Maybach Zeppelin from the 1930s. The sedan boasts a unique three-tone exterior and luxurious interior finishes, including saddle brown Nappa leather and walnut wood accents. Equipped with a powerful 6.0L twin-turbo V12 engine, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds. Deliveries will begin later this year, with pricing yet to be revealed.

The V12 Edition is positioned as a modern-day link to the Maybach Zeppelin of the 1930s. That model featured twelve-cylinder engines with outputs of up to 200 bhp and top speeds reaching 170 kmph, a benchmark figure of its era.
Exterior
The sedan features a three-tone finish combining olive metallic, obsidian black metallic, and a silver metallic pinstripe. The paint process requires up to ten working days, which is double the standard duration for a Maybach two-tone finish. Forged wheels in olive metallic and C-pillar emblems with a gold-accented Maybach logo and a “12” badge complete the exterior updates. The design elements take cues from the Zeppelin DS 8 of the 1930s.
Interior
The interior is finished in saddle brown Nappa leather with burr walnut wood trim, extending to the steering wheel. The roof liner features diamond quilting, while the center console carries a “1 of 50” badge and a gold-inlay Maybach 12 emblem. Accessories include silver-plated champagne flutes, a custom key box, and a saddle brown–trimmed trunk mat.
Engine
Power comes from a 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 producing 603 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The vehicle measures 5,469 mm in length and has a wheelbase spanning 3,396 mm.
Availability
Production is capped at 50 units, with deliveries scheduled to commence later this year. Pricing details have not been disclosed, and availability will be restricted to select markets.
