Nissan Patrol Confirmed for Japan

Nissan confirmed that the Patrol SUV will return to the Japanese market in the first half of fiscal year 2027. The model will re-enter the large SUV segment, which Nissan has not competed in since the Safari ended production in 2007.
The Patrol’s introduction is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the premium SUV category, appealing to customers seeking a versatile, full-size vehicle for both city and off-road use.

Refreshed Ariya to Launch Later This Fiscal Year

Nissan also presented an updated version of the Ariya electric crossover, which is scheduled for launch in Japan later this fiscal year. The model receives minor design updates, suspension improvements and a new infotainment system powered by Google.
It will also feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing external device power supply from the car’s battery. The updated Ariya aligns with Nissan’s focus on intelligent mobility and its efforts to expand EV adoption in the domestic market.
Ivan Espinosa, CEO, Nissan, said, “A strong, vibrant Japan market is important for Nissan’s global success. We are dedicated to reigniting that spirit by honoring our heritage, launching the Patrol as a new flagship for Japan, elevating the legacy of the Elgrand through electrification and advanced intelligence, and pushing technological boundaries with our EVs. Our goal is to offer a range of compelling vehicles, from the smallest Roox to our flagship models, that not only meet daily needs but also inspire emotion and pride.”
