Nissan India has confirmed the unveiling timeline of its upcoming MPV, the Nissan Gravite. The model is based on the Renault Triber platform and is expected to share its powertrain and core structure.
Nissan Gravite MPV to Debut in India on February 17
Nissan has confirmed that the Gravite MPV will be launched in India on 17 February. The model was earlier scheduled to be unveiled on 21 January, but the event was postponed. Customer deliveries are expected to begin from March.
Exterior Design
Teaser images and earlier design sketches suggest that the Gravite will have proportions similar to the Renault Triber, with visible design changes to differentiate it. The front features horizontally placed LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamp units, along with a grille that includes chrome detailing and the Gravite name on the bonnet.
At the rear, the MPV is expected to get split tail-lamps connected by a horizontal element across the tailgate. The Gravite badge is positioned at the centre. Other visible updates include revised bumpers, new alloy wheels and roof rails. Nissan has confirmed that the Gravite will be available in multiple colour options, including teal, white, silver, black and grey.
Engine and Transmission
The Gravite is likely to use the same 1.0L petrol engine as the Renault Triber. Gearbox options are expected to include a manual transmission and an AMT. No changes to the engine specifications have been confirmed so far.
Interior and Seating
Interior images have not yet been released. The Gravite is expected to feature a three-row seating layout. Reported features may include a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, push-button start, steering-mounted controls and rear air vents for second- and third-row occupants. The third row is expected to be removable to allow additional luggage space when required.
Safety Features
Safety features likely to be offered include six airbags, ABS, traction control, hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Final safety specifications are yet to be confirmed by Nissan.
