Royal Enfield Classic 650 Anniversary Edition Launched in India at Rs 4.26 Lakh; Limited to 125 Units
Royal Enfield has unveiled a special edition of its Classic 650, dubbed the Hypershift, to mark the manufacturer's 125th anniversary. This limited-run model is restricted to just 125 units per key market, including India, making it a highly exclusive addition to the brand's current 650cc lineup. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium offering within the Classic range.
Prospective buyers interested in securing one of these limited-edition motorcycles must participate in a registration process. Registrations open on October 16th at 2:00 PM and will remain active until October 28th, which is when the official sales window commences. Following the purchase process, the company has confirmed that customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in November.
Royal Enfield Classic 650 Anniversary Edition: Design & Specs
The defining characteristic of the Hypershift edition is its bespoke paint finish, which is designed to shift between shades of red, green, and gold depending on the angle of light. Beyond the unique paintwork, the motorcycle features distinct aesthetic touches to commemorate the brand's milestone, including a 125-year crest on the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, specialized badging on the side panels, and traditional hand-painted pinstripes. Also Read: Flying Car: Tesla Reveals New Roadster with Mind-Bending SpaceX Technology
Mechanically, the Hypershift remains identical to the standard production-spec Classic 650. It is powered by the familiar 648cc, air-cooled, parallel-twin engine, which produces 47hp and 52.3Nm of torque. The chassis is derived from the Super Meteor 650, though the Classic 650 utilizes a conventional right-side-up (RSU) telescopic fork rather than the upside-down (USD) fork found on its sibling. Additionally, the rear twin-shock setup offers 90mm of travel, a slight reduction from the 101mm found on the Super Meteor.
Royal Enfield Classic 650 Anniversary Edition:Price
The Rs 4.26 lakh price tag for the Hypershift edition represents a significant premium over the standard variants of the Classic 650. For context, it commands a Rs 58,000 premium over the base Vallam Red model, which is priced at Rs 3.68 lakh, and a Rs 43,500 premium over the top-tier Black Chrome variant, which retails for Rs 3.82 lakh. Despite the higher cost, the limited production run is intended to appeal to collectors and enthusiasts looking for a commemorative piece of Royal Enfield history.Log in to post a comment.
