Stellantis & Mistral AI Expand Partnership To Integrate AI In Vehicle Development, Manufacturing & Other Operations

Stellantis and Mistral AI have announced an expansion of their partnership to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into various areas, including vehicle engineering, customer interaction, and manufacturing processes. The collaboration focuses on using Mistral AI’s expertise in large language models (LLMs) and AI-based automation to improve data analysis, streamline processes and support customer interactions.
The collaboration focuses on integrating AI to refine operations and support customer and employee requirements. The projects aim to implement data-based solutions across vehicle development, customer services, and manufacturing processes.

AI-Based In-Car Assistant

One project under the partnership is the development of an AI-based in-car assistant. This system allows drivers to interact with their vehicles through natural language. It functions as a voice-enabled user manual, providing information on vehicle features, troubleshooting, and warning indicators.
The assistant is designed to work across Stellantis brands and models and will receive regular updates to remain relevant to different vehicle types.

AI Integration In Operations

The partnership also involves AI-driven projects for various operational areas:
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Data Tool: This tool supports engineers in analyzing component databases, selecting parts, and improving part reuse.
  • Vehicle Feedback Data Analysis: AI processes data from development fleets and surveys, identifying trends and necessary changes to improve product functionality.
  • Club Stellantis Virtual Assistant: This chatbot supports employees in France with vehicle purchases and manages queries in multiple languages. There are plans to expand its availability in other countries.
  • AI for Manufacturing: AI models are being tested to identify manufacturing errors in real time, allowing workers to address issues before releasing components.
