The motorcycle continues to use the 649cc parallel-twin engine from the standard Z650.

Kawasaki Z650 S: Price

The Kawasaki Z650 S is priced at Rs 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 33,000 more expensive than the standard Z650. The updated motorcycle brings revised styling, changes to riding ergonomics and additional electronic features while retaining the existing engine and mechanical package.

Kawasaki Z650 S: What's New?

The 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S gets revised styling inspired by the larger motorcycles in the brand's Z lineup. The updated design features a redesigned LED headlamp, wider fuel tank extensions and sharper body panels.
The motorcycle also gets aluminium radiator covers and a raised rear section. These changes give the Z650 S a different appearance compared to the standard Z650.
Kawasaki has also revised the riding ergonomics. The new handlebar is wider and positioned further forward, resulting in a more committed riding posture. The wider handlebar is expected to offer improved leverage while changing direction.
Seat height has increased from 790mm on the standard Z650 to 805mm on the Z650 S. This could be a consideration for shorter riders who prefer a motorcycle with a relatively accessible seat height.

Kawasaki Z650 S: Engine & Performance

The Kawasaki Z650 S continues to use the 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. The motor produces 67bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,700rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle also gets an Assist and Slipper Clutch. The system reduces clutch lever effort and helps manage rear-wheel instability during aggressive downshifts.
Kawasaki is offering its Quick Shifter as an optional accessory. The system allows clutchless upshifts, although it is not included in the standard equipment package.

Kawasaki Z650 S: Features & Technology

The updated Z650 S gets a 4.3-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with a revised display layout. Smartphone connectivity is available through Kawasaki's RIDEOLOGY THE APP.
The connected system allows riders to access vehicle information, maintenance schedules and riding logs. Incoming call and mail notifications can also be displayed on the instrument panel.
The motorcycle also gets Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), which helps manage rear-wheel spin by adjusting engine output. The system offers selectable modes to suit different riding conditions.
Other features include full-LED lighting and an Economical Riding Indicator, which provides information about fuel-efficient riding.

Kawasaki Z650 S: Hardware & Dimensions

The Z650 S continues to use a tubular diamond frame, with telescopic front forks and a horizontal back-link rear suspension.
The motorcycle gets 17-inch wheels, with a 120/70ZR17 tyre at the front and a 160/60ZR17 tyre at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc, with ABS as standard.
The updated motorcycle weighs 193kg, which is 5kg more than the standard Z650. The fuel tank capacity remains unchanged at 15 litres, while ground clearance stands at 130mm.
