Suzuki GSX-8T, 8TT Breaks Cover Globally

Suzuki Motor Corporation officially introduced the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. These motorcycles are the latest additions to Suzuki’s GSX line-up and are scheduled for global release in the summer of 2025. The initial rollout will focus on European and North American market.

Specifications Overview

Both models share the same core specifications. They are powered by a 776cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder DOHC unit. Fuel tank capacity is 16.5 liters, with an estimated fuel efficiency of 23.8 km/l under WMTC standards. The GSX-8T has a seat height of 815 mm, while the GSX-8TT sits at 810 mm. Curb weight is listed at 201 kg for the GSX-8T and 203 kg for the GSX-8TT. Both use 17-inch tubeless tires — 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear.

Design and Heritage Influence

The new models adopt a neo-retro styling approach, incorporating design cues from Suzuki’s earlier motorcycles. Both feature a round headlamp inspired by historic flat-bottom designs and include handlebar-end mirrors, which appear for the first time on a Suzuki production model. Built on a high-rigidity steel frame and equipped with a 776cc parallel twin engine, also used in the GSX-8S and 8R, the bikes are supported by an aluminum swingarm to improve ride dynamics.

Electronic Rider Support Systems

Suzuki has fitted both models with its Intelligent Ride System to improve control and usability. Features include the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quick shift system and traction control with three selectable modes plus off. The bikes also have Suzuki’s Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist, intended to aid starts and low-speed riding. A lithium-ion battery supplied by ELIIY Power is used for cold-weather reliability and weight reduction.

Model-Specific Features

The GSX-8T is styled to reference the T500 Titan of the 1960s. It includes a matte black rear body section and a raised emblem on the tank shroud. The GSX-8TT draws from 1970s racing motorcycles, featuring a headlight cowl and underbody panel. It has a “TT” label, short for “Timeless,” to reflect its retro-modern concept. This version also includes black forks, gray seat rails, and sport-inspired decals.
