Mercedes-Benz has launched its 2025 S-Class with significant updates. The Drive Pilot system now allows conditionally automated driving at speeds up to 95 kmph in Germany. Integration of ChatGPT enhances the MBUX infotainment system with AI-based functions. The 2025 S-Class also offers increased customization with the MANUFAKTUR program and an exclusive edition featuring AMG elements.

German luxury and sports car maker Mercedes-Benz has introduced the updated 2025 model year S-Class sedan. This new updated sedan features changes in automated driving system, infotainment and customization.
2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class With Drive Pilot
The 2025 model year S-Class gets an updated version of the company’s autonomous driving system, the Drive Pilot. This update allows conditionally automated driving at speeds up to 95 kmph in Germany, an increase from the previous 60 kmph limit. The system functions on highways when following a vehicle in the right-hand lane. This system includes backup components for electrical, steering and braking functions.
The updated Mercedes-Benz Drive Pilot system uses over 35 sensors, including LiDAR, radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors in the 2025 S-Class to detect the surrounding environment.
Sharing this update the company also shared that it is testing turquoise indicator lights in Germany and the US to signal when Drive Pilot is active in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class : Tech Updates
The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system in the 2025 S-Class now gets AI-based functions and additional digital services. ChatGPT, integrated through Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, allows drivers to interact with the system through voice commands and access real-time information. The navigation feature now gets Google’s satellite view.
2025 S-Class With AMG Styling
The 2025 S-Class will be available in an edition with AMG Line and Night package elements. It has been introdcued in five color options, including MANUFAKTUR night black magno and MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright. Other changes to the design include dark shadow gloss door handles and illuminated black door sill panels.
On the Inside it features three Nappa leather options, a head-up display and a Burmester 3D Surround Sound System. It also gets 20-inch AMG alloy wheels and DIGITAL LIGHT with projection functionality. A digital emblem in MBUX distinguishes the model. This edition reatins powertrain options from the ongoing S-Class lineup.
