Creta, Venue, Exter Fail To Push Hyundai Sales In November 2024 As Numbers Drop By 2.4%
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered a sale of 48,246 units in the month of November 2024 in the country, which meant that the Korean carmaker registered a 2.4% year-on-year (YoY) decline in sales when compared to the 49,451 units sold in November last year.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered a sale of 48,246 units in the month of November 2024 in the domestic market, which meant that the Korean carmaker recorded a 2.4% year-on-year (YoY) decline in sales as compared to the 49,451 units sold in November last year. Moreover, exports were down from 16,350 units in November 2023 to 13,006 units last month, resulting in a 20.5% decline.
All-in-all, the carmaker registered a cumulative degrowth of 6.9% for both domestic and exports combined. The sales numbers in the domestic market helped it retain the second spot for the month behind Maruti Suzuki, however, just marginally with both Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra catching up with domestic sales of 47,063 and 46,222 units respectively in November 2024.
Hyundai's portfolio currently consists of products like Creta, Venue, Venue N Line, Exter, Alcazar, Grand i10 Nios, i20, i20 N Line, Verna, Aura, and the flagship IONIQ 5 EV. Despite the vast lineup, Hyundai was a part of the ongoing slowdown that hit the automotive industry. However, rivals like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra registered positive YoY growth last month.
Hyundai is currently working on introducing the Creta EV in the Indian market, set to debut in the second week of January 2025. The Creta EV will serve as a direct rival to the newly launched Mahindra BE 6e as well as the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV, while it will also face competition from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, also set to be launched soon.
