The De Tomaso P72 Breaks Cover After 72 Months Of Its Concept Reveal

The De Tomaso P72 boasts a monocoque carbon-fibre chassis, making it extremely light. In addition to that, the De Tomaso P72 will only be limited to 72 units, making it a rare entity in the automotive world. The P72 is powered by a supercharged 5.0L V8 engine producing 739.4 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. As per several reports, the De Tomaso is powered by a Roush-tuned Ford Coyote engine which is also found in multiple Ford Mustang and F-150 models, despite the company’s continuous denial.
However, De Tomaso has a history of pairing Italian styling with American engines with one of the biggest examples being the De Tomaso Pantera which was powered by Ford V8 during its production from 1971 to 1992.
The interior of the De Tomaso P72 features no modern amenities like a touchscreen infotainment system. Rather, it features a series of gauges and physical controls, replicating the feel of the P70. Moreover, the Italian automaker did provide a phone mount but the car itself can not be connected to a digital device.
