Hypercar Killer? 2026 ZR1X Unveiled As The Fastest Ever Corvette From Chevrolet Till Date

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, its most powerful production model yet, featuring a hybrid all-wheel-drive system. Combining a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 with a front electric motor, it achieves a remarkable 1,250 bhp and nearly 1,319 Nm of torque. The ZR1X boasts impressive acceleration, reaching 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds, and has a projected top speed of 233 mph. It includes advanced braking and suspension systems, a redesigned interior, and will be hand-built in Kentucky, starting around $210,000.

Hypercar Killer? 2026 ZR1X Unveiled As The Fastest Ever Corvette From Chevrolet Till Date

Chevrolet has officially taken the wraps off the 2026 model year Corvette ZR1X, the most powerful production-spec Corvette yet. Developed as the all-wheel-drive, hybrid follow-up to the upcoming ZR1, the ZR1X adds a front electric motor to the rear-mounted twin-turbo V8 to push combined output to 1,250 bhp and nearly 1319.21 Nm of torque.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: Powertrain

At the heart of the ZR1X is a 5.5L LT7 twin-turbocharged V8, churning out 1,064 bhp and 1122.61 Nm of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Up front, an electric motor, adapted from the Corvette E-Ray but tuned for more, adds 186 bhp and 196.59 Nm of torque, engaging at speeds of up to 160 mph (257 kmph).
Chevy’s engineers say the hybrid system has been reworked with 26 percent more usable battery capacity than the E-Ray, now up to 1.5 kWh. It’s designed for short bursts rather than long-distance EV cruising. A new ‘Charge+’ mode helps recover charge quickly between hard driving stints.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: Performance

Chevrolet estimates a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 kmph) acceleration time under 2.0 seconds, helped by AWD traction and torque-fill from the front axle. The company also claimed that on a prepped surface, the ZR1X has reportedly clocked a sub-9-second quarter-mile.
The ZR1X is also expected to match the rear-drive ZR1’s simulated top speed of 233 mph. During testing at Circuit of the Americas, Chevy engineers say they hit 180 mph on the back straight, with the front axle contributing grip and acceleration out of corners.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: Brakes, Suspension & Aero

To slow it all down, the ZR1X gets what GM calls its biggest-ever braking setup, carbon-ceramic rotors (16.5-inch front) with 10-piston calipers. Two suspension setups will be offered: standard (on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres) and the ZTK Performance Pack (with Cup 2Rs and stiffer springs). A Carbon Aero Package brings additional aerodynamic hardware, including dive planes and a rear wing.
Chassis control comes via the recalibrated eAWD system borrowed from the E-Ray, fine-tuned for high-speed grip and energy recovery. Also new is PTM Pro, allowing drivers to run with traction control off while keeping torque vectoring and regen active.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: Interior

Like all 2026 Corvettes, the ZR1X gets a reworked cabin. That includes a new three-screen layout, a revised infotainment console, and repositioned HVAC controls. A fresh passenger grab handle replaces the old waterfall design. The drive mode selector has been redesigned, and a repurposed cruise control button on the steering now activates a “Push-to-Pass” hybrid boost.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: Production & Pricing

Production will take place at GM’s Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. Each LT7 engine will be hand-built at the same site’s Performance Build Center. Chevy has not announced pricing yet, but based on ZR1 estimates, the ZR1X is expected to start around $210,000, with top-spec convertibles possibly reaching $275,000. The company has also stated there will be no production cap on the ZR1X. Orders will open soon, and deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of 2025.
