Karnataka Family Converts Innova Into Mobile Home For Maha Kumbh; Anand Mahindra Reacts

A Karnataka family converted their Toyota Innova into a mobile home for the Maha Kumbh 2025 and a six-month road trip, spending ₹2 lakh on modifications, including a rooftop tent and a fully equipped kitchen. The car also features solar panels for sustainability. Anand Mahindra praised the innovative design, expressing admiration for such modifications.

A family from Karnataka have modified their Toyota Innova into a mobile home for Maha Kumbh 2025 and eventual road trips, spending approximately Rs 2 lakh of which Rs 1 lakh was for a rooftop tent and Rs 1 lakh for a fully equipped kitchen. Furthermore, the MPV features solar panels to generate electricity thereby enhancing sustainability.

The modifications made to the car caught the attention of Anand Mahindra who has a thing for modifications and innovations. Mahindra shared a post expressing his admiration for the creation.

“It is absolutely true that I am fascinated by such modifications and inventions. But I have to admit that when I depend on Mahindra vehicles, I become even more fascinated,” stated Mahindra.

According to media reports, the couple intends to stay at the Maha Kumbh 2025 for an extended period of time before embarking on six-month long road trip, with a trip to Nepal possibly on the cards.

The mobile home has been built on a first-gen facelift of the Toyota Innova which was introduced in 2012. The MPV from the Japanese automaker is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder diesel engine as well as a 2.0L four-cylinder petrol engine with the former producing 100 bhp and 200 Nm of torque whereas the latter producing 131 bhp and 181 Nm of torque.

The Toyota Innova was succeeded by the Innova Crysta which was launched in 2016 with the Innova getting another iteration called the Innova Hycross which was launched in 2022.
