Kia Tasman Pickup Teased With 'One More Round' Documentary

Kia has released a teaser for its upcoming documentary series, 'One More Round,' which delves into the development of the Tasman pickup truck. The series showcases the extensive testing the Tasman has undergone in the Australian wilderness, ensuring it meets high durability and performance standards. Earlier this year Kia announced that it will be entering the competitive mid-size pickup truck market with its upcoming Tasman model set to debut in Australia in 2025.

The documentary provides an in-depth look at the creation of Kia's first pickup truck, highlighting over 18,000 rounds of testing. It features off-road trials, deep-water wading, all-terrain durability, towing tests, on-track performance, ride and handling assessments and interviews with the research and development team.

The first episode, set to release on July 22, focuses on off-road testing, with subsequent episodes releasing through October.

According to Kia, the Tasman’s development involved 1,777 specific tests. The name "Tasman" was inspired by the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand. The Kia Tasman will debut in the second half of 2024, with a global release planned for the first half of 2025. It will be initially launched in Korea and then the company will introduce the Tasman in Australia and other African and Middle Eastern markets.

Kia is expected to bring the Carnival and EV9 to the Indian amrket in 2025, but the company hasn't yet stated anything publically regarding the arrival of the Tasman pickup in the Indian market.
