Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, along with Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer, and Mitja Borkert, Director of Design, presented the Urus SE in Germany. The Urus SE features a hybrid powertrain, combining a 4.0 L V8 biturbo engine with an electric motor. The internal combustion engine churns 611 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, while the electric motor churns out 189 bhp and 483 Nm of torque. Working in tandem this hybrid powertrain produces a combined power output of 789 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The Urus SE is dubbed as the most powerful version of the SUV till now and it has a top speed of 312 kmph with a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. According to the company the hybrid powertrain has reduced the emissions of the Urus SE about 80 percent compared to the Urus S.
Lamborghini claims that the performance and efficiency of the Urus SE PHEV has improved, all thanks to its hybrid system. The electric torque vectoring system distributes power between the axles and the electronic rear axle differential, affecting vehicle dynamics on various surfaces and conditions.
The Urus SE combines Lamborghini's design elements with hybrid technology, aiming to set new standards in the luxury SUV segment. The design of the Urus SE includes updates for aerodynamics. The vehicle has a new hood design, similar to the Lamborghini Revuelto, and Matrix LED headlights with a new light signature. The rear features a new diffuser and hexagon-shaped graphic element, inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Urus SE has a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the charging floor, above the electronically controlled rear axle differential.
Commenting on the occasion, Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said, “We are delighted to present the most powerful Super SUV on the market to our customers in this impressive atmosphere. With the premiere in Germany, just a few weeks after the world premiere at Auto China in Beijing, we can present our most successful model to customers in one of our most important markets in a worthy setting”.
