Mahindra Announces Thar Roxx SUV, Launch Set For August 15

The Thar Roxx features a distinctive design aimed at differentiating it from its three-door sibling. Updates include a restyled front grille with a new split-style design, all-LED headlights with circular LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. The side profile showcases integrated rear door handles in the C-pillar, with an extended wheelbase to accommodate the additional doors. The top-spec variant will feature 19 inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the rear end includes refreshed LED tail lights and a rear-mounted spare wheel.

From the looks of recently leaked images and spy shots the Thar Roxx will feature a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a multifunction steering wheel, rear AC vents, a push start-stop button, automatic climate control and a single-pane sunroof in top variants.

The Thar Roxx is expected to retain the engine options from the three-door model that includes a 2.0 L turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2 L turbo diesel engine. Both engines will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV will be offered in both 4X4 and 4X2 configurations.

Talking about Safety features Thar Roxx is expected to have dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, roof-mounted speakers, a digital instrument cluster and Type-C charging ports.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to be priced starting around Rs 15 lakh. If it is launched at this it will directly rival with the likes of Maruti Jimny and Force Gurkha 5 door.
