Mercedes-AMG GLC SUV Coupe Launched In India With 2.0 L Handbuilt AMG Engine

The heart of every AMG is its handbuilt engine and the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe houses a handbuilt 2.0 L turbocharged AMG petrol engine. This engine benefits from the company’s experience in F1 using the electric exhaust gas turbocharger which makes turbo lag almost negligible. This engine churns out 421 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch. For performance it comes equipped with all-wheel disc brakes, rear-wheel steering and the company’s signature 4Matic all-wheel drive system. It has a top speed of 250 kmph and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.

The AMG version has some design changes compared to the standard GLC. It features the AMG Panamericana grille, a modified front bumper, a larger front splitter, 21-inch AMG alloy wheels, a lip spoiler, quad exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. The vehicle is available in nine exterior color options.

The interior layout is similar to the regular GLC, with some differences. The GLC 43 features carbon-fibre inlays on the dashboard and an AMG-specific steering wheel. It is equipped with an 11.9-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen with an AMG button, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features include nine airbags, active braking assist, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera and more.
