2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: The Practical Scooter With a Twist
The 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street scooter gets an updated design and more features. But with the passage of time, has the Burgman become just another generic scooter, or does the update give it something extra to offer? We test the Burgman Street to find out if the changes also change the value for money.
2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review
Can a scooter go beyond being just a small-capacity commuter with small wheels and large storage space, suited for daily errands? With the majority of the scooter market saturated with similar-looking options and appeal, one has to wonder if we have already witnessed the peak of scooter usability. Meanwhile, the Burgman has built a fan base around its maxi-style design in the segment. I recently test-rode the updated Burgman Street and here's why I would recommend it as a 'value-conscious' option in the 125cc scooter segment.
2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: Design - The Maxi-Scooter Look
The Burgman Street nameplate has been around for a while, and the updated scooter doubles down on what has worked so far. It still looks distinctive because of its maxi-scooter design. The sharp dual-pod LED headlamp has a low-set placement flanked by LED indicators.
Twin-pod LED headlamp cluster looks good
The sculpted front panels have meticulous creases and a dual-tone theme, which adds to its road presence. It also comes with a large windscreen that has a smoked finish. The sharp design is inspired by Suzuki's Burgman 650 sold internationally, and the design gets carried over nicely.
Now gets 12-inch alloy wheels on the front and rear
From the side, the scooter is instantly recognisable as a Burgman, but the body panels now look more sculpted and flowing.
Taillamp has been redesigned for 2026 Burgman Street
The tail-end is refreshed with a horseshoe-style housing for the LED brake lamp and indicators. The new Burgman also gets an external fuel cap, which makes refuelling the scooter simpler, as you do not have to open the seat every time you go to the fuel pump.
2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: The Twist
This is where the Burgman's unique flavour comes into the picture. It checks the main criteria for a long, comfortable seat. The floorboard area is not the roomiest, but it is wide enough to accommodate your feet and a small grocery bag in the middle. For reference, I wear UK size 10 shoes.
Extended floorboard design adds comfort on long rides
Being a maxi-scooter, the floorboard extends into a pair of front footrests that let you extend your legs for a more relaxed riding position, almost like a cruiser. This enhances riding comfort and also increases the floorboard area's usability, as more room opens up to accommodate larger bags. This is a differentiator for the Burgman compared to other rivals.

2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: Practical Storage
This is another key criterion that the 2026 Burgman Street checks in a satisfactory manner. Below the multi-function key knob, there is an open cubby hole to keep small items. On the left-hand side, there is a covered compartment that can store your smartphone and also has a USB-A charging port.
Gets two storage space on the front of the scooter
The main underseat storage space has a capacity of 24.6 litres, which is 3.1 litres more than the older model. While Suzuki claims it is large enough to accommodate a full-face helmet, my international safety-spec full-size helmet, which also has a sporty spoiler, did not fit.

2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: Performance
For the 2026 model, the Burgman Street remains largely the same. But there is a slight drop in overall weight of the scooter and a marginal increase in torque output.
New Burgman Street gets better torque output
The 124cc engine continues to make 8.4 PS of power. The torque output stands at 10.2 Nm, up from 9.8 Nm in the earlier model. On the road, that bump in torque was not noticeable, but the Burgman Street is no slouch when it comes to picking up pace. After a dull spot between 0-20 km/h, the scooter accelerates strongly up to 60 km/h. Overtakes will be easy up to this speed. 70 km/h is also achieved fairly effortlessly, after which the acceleration rate drops.

At full throttle, the Burgman Street achieved an indicated 98 kmph. It also felt stable at those speeds, which is good news for riders who travel long distances daily, involving expressways and flyovers.
12-inch alloy wheels make the scooter more flickable
The 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear make the scooter more flickable at a higher pace. In the braking department, the Burgman Street gets a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. The hardware, along with the combined braking system, offers impressive bite at higher speeds, and the scooter comes to a stop with confidence, something that you will appreciate in your day-to-day riding.
2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: Tech and Features
For starters, the Burgman Street Ride Connect TFT Edition that I tested comes with a 4.2-inch TFT display. The display offers a host of useful information such as average fuel efficiency, fuel level, speed and more. I particularly liked that the screen can automatically switch between day and night mode to improve visibility at different times by inverting the background colours.
The other highlight is the multi-function keyless system. Instead, you use the multi-function knob to turn the scooter on and off, open the fuel lid, or access the under-seat storage - all you need to ensure is that the key is in range. It takes a little getting used to but adds to the convenience once you get the hang of it.

The Burgman Street also gets the Suzuki Ride Connect suite of connected features, which include turn-by-turn navigation on the screen, last parked location alert on your smartphone through the mobile app, maintenance information and more. These features, along with riding statistics, give you helpful insights into your monthly riding behaviour and fuel consumption.
2026 Suzuki Burgman Street Review: Price and Verdict
Suzuki has launched the new Burgman Street in two variants; the Ride Connect TFT Edition priced at Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom). There is also the Ride Connect version priced at a much more affordable Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom) that gives the TFT screen, connected features and wireless key functionality a miss. I would personally invest that extra Rs 11,000 for the added convenience and 'feel-good' factor that it offers.
Price starts from Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom)
Overall, the Suzuki Burgman Street sticks out in a sea of generic 125cc scooters that look similar and function similarly. It adds a unique touch of maxi-scooter fundamentals to a scooter that feels well-thought-out in its ergonomics and performance. The good looks are a plus. This makes it easy to recommend the 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street for both family scooter buyers and young riders.
