Mahindra Thar OG vs Thar Roxx Spec Comparison: What's Different?

Mahindra has recently launched the Thar OG 3-door lifestyle SUV in India. The Thar OG gets a suffix in its name but retains its fan base in the domestic market. Today we put up the Thar OG up against the bigger Thar Roxx 5-door to figure out how these two SUVs stack up in a specification comparison.

The newly launched Mahindra Thar OG is available in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 17.75 lakh.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 12.52 to Rs 23.52 lakh.

The Mahindra Thar OG measures 3,995mm in length, 1,870mm in width, 1,855mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,450mm.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx measures 4,428mm in length, 1,870mm in width, 1,923mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,850mm.

Mahindra offers the Thar OG with three engine options. The Thar OG is offered with a 1.5L turbo-diesel engine that produces 116.93bhp and 300Nm of torque, a 2.2L 4-cyl turbo-diesel engine that produces 150.06bhp and 330Nm of torque and a 2.0L 4-cyl turbo-petrol engine that produces 159.58bhp and 330Nm of torque. The Thar OG is offered with multiple transmission options including - 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. The Thar OG 4WD is offered with petrol and diesel engine options.

Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx with two engine options. It gets the 2.0L 4-cyl turbo petrol engine producing up to 174.33bhp and 380Nm of torque and the 2.2L 4-cyl turbo diesel engine producing up to 172.45bhp and 400Nm of torque. The Thar Roxx is offered with multiple transmission options including - 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. The Thar Roxx 4WD is only offered with the diesel engine option.

On the features front the Mahindra Thar OG sports new C-shaped LED DRLs, LED ice cube fog lamps and cornering lamps, LED tail lights, new Thar OG badging, new front grille, electronically locking differential, 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and wired Apple CarPlay, electric power steering, terrain modes, rear AC vents, lockable glovebox, sliding armrest, A-pillar entry assist handle, TPMS, MID, rear parking sensors and more.

On the features front the Mahindra Thar Roxx sports - 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, idle start/stop, Harman Kardon sound system with subwoofer, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, lockable glovebox, sunglass holder, connected car features and more.
