Upcoming Cars & Bikes Launching In August 2024: Mahindra Thar Roxx, BSA Goldstar, Ola Electric Motorcycle And More

Gear up for an action-packed August in the automotive world with several exciting new releases. This month, look out for Mahindra's rugged Thar Roxx 5-Door SUV, the classic BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle, Ola Electric's first bike, the Audi Q8 facelift, and a new 125cc motorcycle from TVS. Here's what to expect from these upcoming models.

Mahindra is set to unveil the 5-door Thar Roxx SUV on August 15th, 2024, and has been teasing its features through a series of online videos. The latest teaser reveals the SUV’s interior, including a fully digital instrument cluster with traction control, hill descent control and auto hold, indicating an automatic transmission. It also highlights a digital infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and contoured perforated beige leather seats. Additional features include a black dashboard with piano black and chrome trims, automatic climate control and a Harman Kardon sound system.

BSA Motorcycles, part of Mahindra and Mahindra's Classic Legends, is set to re-enter the Indian Market with the launch of Gold Star 650, on August 15, 2024. The new Gold Star 650 features a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with 45 bhp and 55 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed transmission. It has a 41mm telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorbers and weighs 213 kg. The bike comes with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, Brembo brakes with ABS and a 12-liter fuel tank, achieving 70.6 mpg (4.001 L/100 km). Its dimensions include a 1,425mm wheelbase and a 780mm seat height.

Ola Electric is set to launch its first electric motorcycle in India on August 15. The teaser showcases a roadster-style design with a sharp tank, flat single-piece seat and distinctive tail section. The headlamp cluster features a round LED unit and LED daytime running light strip, along with vertically positioned turn signals. This model marks the beginning of Ola Electric’s entry into the motorcycle market.

Audi India drop teasers of its SUV, Q8 Facelift which is expected to launch on August 22. The updated SUV includes new front and rear bumpers, an optional S line exterior package, and HD Matrix LED headlights with laser high beams. The Q8 Facelift offers updated wheel options from 21 to 23 inches and comes with advanced driver assistance systems as standard. It is expected to feature a 3.0 L V6 turbo-petrol engine producing 335 BHP and 500 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. The facelift also brings enhancements to infotainment and connectivity features, combining refined design with cutting-edge technology.

TVS will re-enter the 125cc segment with a new bike set to launch on August 20. While specific details about the bike's specs and features are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to sport an aggressive and sporty design. This new model will compete with rivals such as the Hero Xtreme125R, Bajaj Pulsar 125, Honda SP125 and more. Given TVS’s current lineup, which includes the family-oriented Raider 125, this new bike is expected to offer a sportier, more aggressive style.
