Upcoming New Honda Amaze

Save the best for last, that’s an old adage that Honda certainly believes in. The carmaker will be launching the year's last car in December 2024. The Amaze promises to be a big hitter when launched with a spew of new and modern features. Here is our pick of what to expect.

While Honda hasn’t given any confirmation just as yet, the first images of the sketches revealed showcase that the Amaze will be offered with ADAS-safety tech that should help give it an instant advantage over the Maruti Dzire which still doesn’t offer this tech. So expect lane keep assist, emergency brake assist along with adaptive cruise control to be part of the kit to take on the 5-star safety rating that the new Dzire has just received.

The sketches reveal a very sporty exterior that promises to mimic the styling of the American version of the Accord, a much bigger and expensive sedan than the Amaze or City. The huge hexagonal grille along with the sleek lamps give this car plenty of personality. In fact even the rectangular lamps at the rear give this car a very cohesive look and a good stance that should enhance its appeal further.

Honda works on the ‘man maximum, machine minimum’ principle, that simply means they try and maximise the cabin space as well as room using every inch possible. This will be visible in the new Amaze as well. The car promises to have the best back seat in the segment offering a very good chauffeur driven experience. If it is the back seat that concerns you, then the Amaze is the best bet in the segment.

The Honda CVT-automatic is ahead of the AMT-autos found on rivals. The gear shifts are simply brilliant and unlike the lurches you feel on an AMT, the CVT has a continuous transmission giving you a smooth experience. CVTs are also inherently fuel efficient so expect the updated car to have better economy numbers as well.

The current gen car has a boot of 420-litres making it the biggest in the segment. Expect the updated version to get a slight improvement in this department as well. The boot on the new Amaze should be over 430-litres giving it the edge not only against rivals but all compact SUVs.
