MG Motor India is gearing up to unveil the 2026 MG Hector today in India. Ahead of the announcement, the company has released multiple teasers that outline the key updates expected on the new model. These early previews indicate revised exterior elements, minor feature additions inside the cabin and a slight price hike is also expected, while the mechanical setup is likely to remain unchanged.

2026 MG Hector: Exterior Updates
Recent teasers show that the 2026 Hector will feature a redesigned front grille, updated detailing around the emblem and a revised front bumper with a new skid plate. Changes to the DRL elements are also visible. The company has confirmed a new Celadon Blue paint option, previously seen on the MG Windsor. Test mules spotted earlier also suggest new five-spoke alloy wheels, a reworked rear bumper and small revisions to the tailgate. The overall shape of the SUV remains the same.
2026 MG Hector: Interior and Features
No major layout changes are expected inside the cabin. MG may introduce physical buttons to supplement the touchscreen controls. The touchscreen system is likely to receive updated software and additional connected-car features. New upholstery options may be offered and ventilated rear seats could be added to certain variants. The ADAS package may also see an expansion.
2026 MG Hector: Powertrain
The 2026 Hector and Hector Plus are expected to continue with the current engine options:
- A 1.5L turbo-petrol engine (141bhp/250Nm) paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic.
- A 2.0L diesel engine (167bhp/350Nm) available with a 6-speed manual.
2026 MG Hector: Expected Pricing
The new Hector is expected to see a small increase of around Rs 25,000 to 50,000 across variants. With the current model starting at Rs 14.00 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated version is expected to begin around Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
2026 MG Hector: Rivals
The 2026 MG Hector will continue to compete with models such as the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and Mahindra Thar Roxx. The Hector Plus will take on the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio-N.
