2026 Toyota Hilux: Three Variants on Offer

The new Toyota Hilux is available in three variants - GX 4x2 AT, GX 4x4 AT and VX 4x4 AT.

2026 Toyota Hilux GX 4x2 AT

The entry-level GX 4x2 AT is priced at Rs. 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes equipped with a comprehensive list of safety and convenience features. It gets seven airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, a day/night inside rear-view mirror, rear fog lamps, matte-finished ORVMs, a pole antenna, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers, steering-mounted audio controls and wired smartphone connectivity.

2026 Toyota Hilux GX 4x4 AT

The GX 4x4 AT, priced at Rs. 33.69 lakh (ex-showroom), carries over all the features from the 4x2 version while adding Toyota's four-wheel-drive system. The package includes a high and low-range transfer case along with differential locks, making it a more capable option for off-road enthusiasts.

2026 Toyota Hilux VX 4x4 AT

The range-topping VX 4x4 AT, priced at Rs. 36.69 lakh (ex-showroom), adds several premium features over the GX variants. It comes with front seat belt pretensioners, a 360-degree camera, downhill assist control, terrain selection modes, LED headlamps with LED indicators, electrically adjustable mirrors, a shark-fin antenna, a premium dashboard finish, illuminated scuff plates and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with eight speakers.
The top variant also offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, push-button start and a PM 2.5 cabin air filter, making it significantly more feature-rich.

Automatic-Only Strategy Targets Lifestyle Buyers

Toyota has chosen to offer the new Hilux only with an automatic gearbox, indicating that the company is targeting lifestyle buyers rather than traditional commercial users. The fully loaded VX variant, despite costing around Rs. 3 lakh more than the GX 4x4, offers a substantial upgrade in technology, comfort and convenience features, making it the most attractive option in the lineup.
With the launch of the new Hilux, competition in India's lifestyle pickup truck segment is set to intensify. The pickup will continue to rival the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, while Mahindra's upcoming global pickup is also expected to enter the market in the near future with competitive pricing. The new Hilux also offers a glimpse of the premium features and technology that could make their way to the next-generation Toyota Fortuner in the future.
