Bajaj Pulsar NS200, NS400Z Spotted with New TFT Console: What to Expect?

Bajaj Auto is steadily updating its Pulsar range with new features and equipment. After introducing the new TFT console on models such as the Pulsar N160 4V, Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150, the company appears ready to extend the same update to the Pulsar NS200 and NS400Z.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has remained largely unchanged for some time, with its most recent notable update bringing an LCD instrument console and LED headlight. The latest spotted motorcycle, however, gets the newer TFT display already seen on other Pulsar models.

The new console is expected to bring smartphone connectivity and Google Maps mirroring. The updated motorcycle also gets revised switchgear, which should make it easier to navigate through the different functions on the display.

The Pulsar N160 4V recently received ride modes along with ride-by-wire technology. It remains to be seen whether Bajaj will introduce a similar setup on the NS200 with this update.

Interestingly, another Pulsar NS200 spotted at the dealership was equipped with the existing LCD console. This suggests that Bajaj could offer the motorcycle in multiple variants. The entry-level version could continue with the LCD console, single-channel ABS and telescopic front fork, while the higher-spec version could get the TFT console, dual-channel ABS and USD front fork.

Bajaj has also been spotted testing an NS200 equipped with a WP front fork, although it is not yet clear whether this setup will make it to the production motorcycle.

Despite the feature updates, the Pulsar NS200 is expected to retain its existing mechanical package. It is powered by a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 24.5 PS and 18.74 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Pulsar NS400Z has also been spotted at a dealership with the new TFT instrument console. The motorcycle currently uses a colour LCD unit with a dot-matrix inset, which can appear busy when displaying multiple information elements. The new TFT unit should offer a cleaner interface and make it easier for riders to access information and navigate through the motorcycle's various ride modes using the revised switchgear.

Unlike the NS200, the Pulsar NS400Z is expected to continue with a single-variant lineup. No major mechanical changes are expected.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is currently priced from Rs 1,38,302, while the top-spec version costs Rs 1,48,603. The Pulsar NS400Z is priced at Rs 1,86,015 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The updated versions are expected to command a premium of around Rs 6,000 over the outgoing models. Since both motorcycles have already started reaching dealerships, Bajaj could officially launch them soon, potentially before the festive season.
