BMW 7 Series Facelift and i7 Bookings Open in India Ahead of Launch

BMW India has officially opened pre-launch bookings for the updated 7 Series and its all-electric sibling, the i7, ahead of their official launch in the country. Customers can reserve the luxury sedans by visiting authorised BMW dealerships or through the company's official website. The facelifted models arrive just months after making their global debut and bring noticeable design, technology and performance upgrades.
Key Highlights:
  • BMW India starts pre-launch bookings for the facelifted 7 Series and all-electric i7.
  • Luxury sedan gets a refreshed exterior with illuminated kidney grille and redesigned lighting.
  • Cabin receives a larger touchscreen, new BMW Operating System and upgraded rear entertainment.
  • Petrol, diesel and electric variants get more power, while the i7 also gets a bigger battery pack.

Refreshed Exterior with New Lighting Design

The updated BMW 7 Series and i7 receive subtle yet premium styling changes. At the front, the biggest highlight is the illuminated kidney grille, which adds to the sedan's road presence.
BMW has also redesigned the headlamps with a split vertical layout. The slim upper section houses the daytime running lights (DRLs), while the main headlamp units are positioned lower near the air curtains.
At the rear, the luxury sedans feature slimmer LED tail lamps that extend further into the tailgate. BMW has also neatly integrated the boot release button, rear-view camera and washer nozzle for a cleaner appearance.

Cabin Gets Bigger Screens and More Technology

Inside, BMW has extensively updated the cabin with a stronger focus on digital technology.
The dashboard now features a large 17.9-inch central touchscreen running the latest BMW Operating System, accompanied by a 14.6-inch display for the front passenger. Replacing the conventional instrument cluster is a full-width projection display positioned at the base of the windscreen.
Other highlights include a new four-spoke steering wheel, a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with up to 18 speakers, and a redesigned ambient light strip stretching across the dashboard.
Rear-seat passengers also benefit from an upgraded 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen that supports video streaming, video calls and gaming.

More Powerful Petrol and Diesel Engines

BMW has also improved the performance of the internal combustion engine (ICE) variants.
The 740i xDrive petrol now produces 400bhp and 580Nm, an increase of 19bhp and 60Nm over the outgoing model. Meanwhile, the 740d xDrive diesel delivers 313bhp and 670Nm, gaining 27bhp and 20Nm.
Both models continue with a 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Electric i7 Gets Bigger Battery and Higher Output

The facelift also brings significant upgrades to the electric BMW i7.
The previous rear-wheel-drive i7 50 eDrive has been replaced by the new i7 50 xDrive, which comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Both electric variants now feature a larger 112.4kWh battery pack, replacing the earlier 101.7kWh unit.
The new i7 50 xDrive develops 455bhp and 660Nm, while the flagship i7 M70 xDrive now produces 680bhp and up to 1,100Nm of peak torque.

Expected Price

The current BMW 7 Series is priced at Rs 1.85 crore (ex-showroom) for both petrol and diesel versions, while the BMW i7 is available between Rs 2.10 crore and Rs 2.58 crore (ex-showroom).
BMW is expected to announce a slight price increase when the facelifted 7 Series and i7 are officially launched in India.
