BMW M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, M 1000 XR Nurburgring Editions Unveiled, Limited to 100 Units Each

BMW Motorrad has unveiled limited-edition versions of the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR to mark 100 years of the Nurburgring. Production of each motorcycle will be limited to 100 units globally, with all three receiving a common Nurburgring-inspired design and equipment package.

The three motorcycles are finished in a special Nurburgring Green colour developed for the anniversary editions. They also get circuit-themed graphics, carbon-fibre wheels and an individual ‘one of 100’ identification marking. BMW has not announced the prices or market-wise availability of the three motorcycles yet.

The anniversary treatment is largely cosmetic, although BMW has also added equipment aimed at track riding. All three motorcycles come equipped with the M Track Package as standard. The package is complemented by carbon wheels with Nurburgring Green detailing, black-finished rear swingarms and rear subframes. The seats feature an Alcantara-look finish and receive an embroidered ‘100’ motif.

The fuel tanks get a painted representation of the Nurburgring Nordschleife, while the airbox covers feature dedicated anniversary graphics and an individual production number.

The M 1000 RR and M 1000 R also come with an M Cover Kit. BMW is supplying an M motorcycle mat carrying the 100 Jahre Nurburgring logo and a rear paddock stand with all three motorcycles.

The M 1000 RR is the most track-focused motorcycle among the three. It is BMW Motorrad's fully faired M supersport motorcycle and uses an aerodynamic body designed around high-speed performance.

For the 100 Jahre Nurburgring edition, the motorcycle retains its existing mechanical package but gets the anniversary-specific paint, graphics, carbon wheels and additional equipment. The standard M Track Package is also part of the specification.

BMW M 1000 R 100 Jahre Nurburgring

The M 1000 R gets the same anniversary treatment in naked-bike form. It carries the M 1000 family's high-performance hardware but has an upright riding position and minimal bodywork compared with the M 1000 RR.

The special edition gets Nurburgring Green paint, carbon wheels, black rear components and the ‘100’ seat embroidery. It also comes with the M Track Package and M Cover Kit as standard.

The M 1000 XR is the crossover-style motorcycle in the line-up. It combines the performance focus of BMW's M motorcycles with a riding position designed to make the bike more suitable for longer-distance use.

Its anniversary edition receives the same Nurburgring Green finish, Nordschleife tank graphic, carbon wheels, anniversary decals and Alcantara-look seat. The M Track Package is standard on this version as well.

The Nurburgring officially opened on June 18, 1927. Its Nordschleife section stretches 20.8 km and features 73 corners along with substantial elevation changes.

BMW Motorrad's association with the circuit also dates back to 1927, when BMW recorded its first victory at the Nurburgring.

The circuit has subsequently been used for the development and testing of various vehicle systems, including chassis, braking, aerodynamics, powertrains and thermal management.

The three motorcycle editions form part of a larger BMW M and BMW Motorrad anniversary programme. BMW is also introducing six ‘100 Jahre Nurburgring’ editions of its M cars, including the M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring.
