Yangwang U9: Performance
The U9 Track Edition is powered by a quad-motor setup, with each motor capable of 30,000 rpm and producing around 744 bhp. Combined system output exceeds 3,000 bhp, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 1,200 bhp per tonne. The car is based on BYD’s e4 Platform and uses a 1200V ultra-high-voltage architecture supported by a thermal management system for extreme operating conditions.
To manage stability at high speeds, the U9 Track Edition employs the DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, which makes suspension adjustments more than 100 times per second. Torque vectoring is also managed independently at each wheel to optimise traction.
The vehicle runs on semi-slick tyres developed with Giti Tire, designed with special compounds, bespoke tread patterns, and treatments at the wheel-rim interface to minimise slippage and wear during extreme acceleration and braking.
Yangwang U9: Competition
The new speed record set by Yangwang U9 surpasses the Rimac Nevera R’s 431.45 kmph set in July 2025 and the Aspark Owl SP600’s 438.7 kmph unofficial run. For context, the standard Yangwang U9 achieved 391.94 kmph during a 2024 test. The Rimac Nevera, producing 1,914 bhp, previously held 23 performance records in a single day, while the Aspark Owl SP600 has a peak power output of 2,012 bhp.
