Ducati Panigale V4, Streetfighter V4 recalled in India Due to Rear Wheel Shaft Issue
Ducati India has announced a recall of 393 motorcycles, including the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, due to a possible defect in the rear wheel axle. The issue is part of a wider global recall covering thousands of units.

Ducati India has confirmed that 393 units of the Panigale V4 (2018–2024) and Streetfighter V4 (2018–2025) are being recalled. The company stated: "The recall is for the rear wheel shaft and has been announced on Panigale V4 (model year 2018 to 2024) and Streetfighter V4 (model year 2018 to 2025). In India, 393 units are being recalled, and we are in touch with all the clients who own the models with the affected VINs."

Affected motorcycles will undergo inspection at authorised dealerships. If necessary, the rear axle will be replaced at no cost to owners.
Cause of the Recall
The recall traces back to an incident in September 2023, when a rear wheel axle broke while a motorcycle was in motion. Although the wheel did not detach, the failure raised safety concerns.
Investigations filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicate that factors such as mileage, vehicle condition or incorrect torque application during adjustments could contribute to axle failure. Ducati has since introduced a stronger axle design in production models from June 2024.
Global Impact
The recall is not limited to India. Around 10,000 motorcycles in the United States and nearly 7,000 in Germany are affected, along with several hundred more in Canada and other regions.
