KTM India Cuts Prices For 160 Duke, RC 200, 250 Adventure and More After GST Rate Cut on Motorcycles - Old Vs New Prices

The recent revision of motorcycle tax rates by the GST Council has led to decreased ex-showroom prices for sub-350cc KTM models, while larger motorcycles over 350cc face increased tax rates. The GST for smaller motorcycles is now 18%, down from 28% for larger ones, which now face a 40% rate. Consequently, the KTM 250 Adventure price dropped significantly by Rs 20,340. Despite the tax hike on larger models, KTM will maintain the prices for its 390cc range, absorbing the additional costs.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council revised motorcycle tax rates earlier this month, leading to reduced ex-showroom prices for sub-350cc KTM models. Larger motorcycles above 350cc now attract a higher GST rate.

GST Rate Changes on Motorcycles

Earlier this month, the GST Council raised the tax rate on motorcycles above 350cc from 28 Percent to 40 Percent. At the same time, it reduced GST on smaller-capacity motorcycles to 18 Percent. This has resulted in price adjustments across the two-wheeler market.
The highest price reduction is on the KTM 250 Adventure, which is now cheaper by Rs 20,340. On the other end, the KTM 160 Duke has seen the lowest cut of Rs 14,453.

Impact on Larger-Capacity Motorcycles Post GST Revision

Despite the tax increase on motorcycles above 350cc, KTM has announced that it will keep ex-showroom prices unchanged for its 390cc range, including the 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure-X and 390 Enduro R. The company has stated it will absorb the higher GST cost instead of passing it on to customers.
