Mahindra Registers Double Digit Growth in Car Sales for September 2025

Indian automaker Mahindra, popular for its SUV range in the country, has released its passenger vehicle sales data for September 2025. Sharing this update the company shared that it has witnessed double-digit growth in its SUV sales for last month. The company has been on a roll in the domestic market in the first half of the decade.

In September 2025 Mahindra managed to sell a total of 58,714 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure represents a growth in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 5,124 units which further translates into 9.56 percent increase in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Mahindra posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 53,590 units.

Last month Mahindra managed to sell 56,233 units of passenger vehicles domestically in the Indian market. This sales figure represents a year-on-year growth in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 5,171 units which further translates into 10.12 percent increase in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Mahindra posted a domestic passenger vehicle sales of 51,062 units.

Last month Mahindra exported 2,481 units of passenger vehicles from India. This represents a year-on-year fall in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 47 units which further translates into a 1.85 percent decline in year-on-year monthly passenger vehicle exports. In September 2024 Mahindra exported 894 units of passenger vehicles.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “In September, we achieved SUV sales of 56,233 units, a growth of 10%, and total vehicle sales of 100,298 units, a 16% growth compared to the same month last year. Thanks to the impetus from GST 2.0 and the preceding weeks’ pent-up demand, we have seen robust growth in dealer reported customer retails during the first nine days of Navratri, with over 60% growth in the SUV segment and over 70% growth in the CV segment compared to the first nine days of Navratri last year. The surge in festive demand has placed significant constraints on availability of trailers. We are working to improve dispatches to our dealer network within the constraints.”
