Mahindra Registers Over 10 Percent Growth in Monthly Car Sales for May 2026

Indian automaker Mahindra has shared its monthly passenger vehicle sales data for May 2026. The data shared by the automaker outlines that the company managed to sell a total of over fifty nine thousand units of passenger vehicles last month. Mahindra has been on a path to growth in the domestic market owing to a strong demand for its SUVs like Thar, Scorpio-N, XUV 7XO, Thar Roxx and others.

The monthly passenger vehicle sales data shared by Mahindra highlights that in May 2026 the company managed to sell a total of 59,573 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure indicates an increase in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 4,754 units which further translates into 8.67 percent growth in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In May 2025 Mahindra posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 54,819 units.

Last month Mahindra managed to sell 58,021 units of passenger vehicles in the Indian domestic market. This sales figure indicates a year-on-year increase in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 5,590 units which further translates into 10.66 percent growth in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In May 2025 Mahindra posted a domestic passenger vehicle sales of 52,431 units.

In May 2026 Mahindra exported 1,552 units of passenger vehicles from India. This indicates a year-on-year fall in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 836 units which further translates into a 35 percent decline in year-on-year monthly passenger vehicle exports. In May 2025 Mahindra exported 2,388 units of passenger vehicles.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, “In May, we achieved SUV sales of 58,021 units, a growth of 11% and total vehicle sales stood at 99,636, a 20% YoY growth. The sustained demand across our portfolio continues, constrained by supply chain challenges due to manpower shortages at select suppliers.”
