Mahindra Scorpio N New vs Old: What’s Changed?

The SUV retains its robust design but now boasts a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Safety upgrades include a 540-degree surround-view camera.

The Mahindra Scorpio N has received its first major update four years after its original introduction. The 2026 Scorpio N facelift brings a refreshed cabin, more features and a few small exterior changes, while continuing with the same petrol and diesel engine options.

The SUV continues to retain its signature rugged and boxy design, but the biggest changes are inside the cabin. Here’s a detailed look at how the new Scorpio N facelift differs from the outgoing model.

Scorpio N Facelift vs Old Model: Exterior

Mahindra has kept exterior changes to a minimum on the 2026 Scorpio N facelift. The SUV continues with its familiar upright and muscular design, featuring the same six-slat grille, rugged bumpers, faux skid plates and LED lighting setup.

The lower door cladding, roof rails and chrome ‘scorpion tail’ element around the windowline have also been carried forward.

The main visual change is the new design of the dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. Apart from this, the facelift looks largely identical to the outgoing Scorpio N.

The cabin is where the 2026 Scorpio N facelift gets its biggest updates. The previous 9-inch, dashboard-integrated infotainment unit has been replaced by a larger 12.3-inch freestanding touchscreen.

The new screen has also resulted in a redesigned centre console and updated switchgear. The vertical AC vents have been replaced by horizontal vents positioned below the infotainment display.

However, Mahindra has retained the existing black-and-brown interior theme and seat upholstery design.

The facelift brings several new features to make the Scorpio N more premium and tech-focused.

One of the biggest additions is a panoramic sunroof, replacing the smaller single-pane unit available on the outgoing model.

The previous semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch MID has also been replaced by a fully digital 10.25-inch display. The front occupants additionally get a 65W Type-C fast-charging port.

Another new feature is ‘Adventure Statistics’. Integrated into the infotainment system, it displays information such as engine performance, roll and pitch angles, compass readings, altimeter data and G-force.

Mahindra has also made changes to the Scorpio N's camera and safety technology.

The facelift gets a 540-degree surround-view camera along with a blind-view monitor. These replace the front and rear camera setup offered on the previous version.

Despite the updates, Mahindra has not made any changes to the Scorpio N's engine lineup.

The SUV continues with a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. The diesel engine is offered in two different states of tune.

The turbo-petrol engine produces 204hp and 370Nm with the manual gearbox, while the automatic version produces 380Nm of torque.

The lower-spec diesel variants develop 132hp and 300Nm, while the higher variants produce 175hp and 370Nm. With the automatic gearbox, the higher-output diesel gets 400Nm of torque.

Transmission options continue to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic.

The Scorpio N facelift continues to offer a rear-wheel-drive layout as standard on most variants.

In diesel form, 4x4 is available on variants above the base Z4, along with the top-end Z8T and Z8L trims. Petrol variants continue to come with RWD.

2026 Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift: Price

The 2026 Scorpio N facelift starts at Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the outgoing model.

At the top end, the Z8L 7-seat diesel-automatic 4x4 variant also gets a price increase compared to its predecessor. Depending on the variant, the new Scorpio N facelift is now up to Rs 83,500 more expensive.

Overall, the 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is more of a feature and interior-focused update than a major design overhaul. While the exterior remains almost unchanged, the larger touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, upgraded camera system and new adventure-focused display make the cabin considerably more modern.

The unchanged petrol and diesel engines, along with the familiar RWD and 4x4 configurations, mean the facelift continues to offer the same core mechanical package as before.
