Design

According to the teasers shared by the automaker, The Majestor follows a box-shaped SUV layout similar to the MG Gloster. The front shows a large grille and split headlamps. From the side, visible elements include body cladding, roof rails, dual-tone alloy wheels and dark treatment for the mirrors and window surrounds. The rear section is expected to feature connected tail lamps and dual exhaust outlets. Its appearance is close to the Maxus D90 sold in several overseas markets.

Interior and features

The cabin has not been shown yet. Based on other MG products, the Majestor may use a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument display and a panoramic sunroof. Features that could be offered include ventilated and heated seats, a powered driver seat with massage function, wireless phone charging, multi-zone climate control and an electrically operated tailgate.

Powertrain and drivetrain

The Majestor is expected to use the same mechanical package as the Gloster. This would mean a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine that puts out 213bhp and 478Nm pf torque paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system is likely to be offered.
For reference, the Toyota Fortuner uses a 2.8L diesel engine rated at 201bhp and 500Nm of torque, combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Safety and driver assistance

In terms of safety, MG Majestor is expected to include Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems. These may cover adaptive cruise control, driver fatigue alert, hill descent control, roll movement intervention and a 360-degree camera. Other equipment could include six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
