Mini Countryman C Petrol India Launch on June 17: Here's What to Expect

British legacy automaker Mini owned by German automotive conglomerate BMW Group has announced that the new Countryman C petrol will be launched in the Indian market on June 17th 2026. The Mini Countryman C will become the latest addition to the Countryman range in the country and will be locally assembled at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai.

Pre-bookings for the Mini Countryman C are already underway in India via authorised Mini dealerships across the country. Revealing the launch date of the Countryman C, Mini India revealed that this car will be introduced in its petrol avatar in India. The Mini Countryman C petrol will join the existing Countryman Electric and JCW Countryman All4 variants currently on sale in the country.

Unlike the fully imported Countryman Electric and the performance-oriented JCW Countryman All4, the Countryman C will be assembled in India. This move is expected to help Mini position the SUV more competitively in the premium compact luxury SUV segment.

In terms of styling, the Countryman C adopts a cleaner and less aggressive appearance than the JCW variant. The SUV features a simpler front bumper design and styling elements similar to those seen on the Countryman Electric.

Inside, the cabin follows Mini’s latest design philosophy. A large circular OLED touchscreen takes centre stage, while a head-up display replaces the conventional instrument cluster. The dashboard and door panels also feature the brand’s signature knitted textile finish.

The upcoming Mini Countryman C is expected to be equipped with a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed AT. In international markets, this powertrain generates about 168bhp and 280Nm of torque, although the final India-spec output figures are yet to be officially confirmed. In India the Countryman C is likely to be offered with a front-wheel-drive setup.

With local assembly reducing import duties, the Mini Countryman C is expected to be launched in India in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 55 lakh.
