Mini Countryman C Petrol India Launch Tomorrow: Here's What to Expect

The Indian division of the British legacy automaker Mini is all set to expand its product lineup in India with the launch of the Mini Countryman C. Mini India will launch the Countryman C in India tomorrow, i.e. June 17th 2026. The new Countryman C is being made-in-India which is likely to make this car more accessible.

The Countryman C Petrol is expected to be slotted below the electric and JCW versions in the lineup. Bookings for the same are already underway across Mini dealerships in the country. The Countryman C is expected to play a key role in broadening Mini's appeal in the country owing to its premium features, distinctive styling and a potentially more competitive price tag.

In terms of design the Countryman C is expected to retain the new-generation Mini design language, albeit with subtler styling elements compared to the sporty JCW variant. It gets a cleaner front bumper design without the aggressive air vents and contrasting accents seen on the performance model. The alloy wheel design and several exterior details are likely to mirror those of the Countryman Electric, giving the SUV a contemporary yet unmistakably Mini identity.

On the inside, the cabin is expected to be identical to its siblings. The standout feature remains the large circular OLED touchscreen that serves as the central infotainment display, while a head-up display replaces the traditional instrument cluster. Premium materials, including the knitted fabric finish across the dashboard and door panels, are also likely to be carried over.

The Mini Countryman C petrol is expected to be equipped with a 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed AT. Globally, this engine produces 168bhp and 280Nm of torque; the India-spec model is expected to get the same output. The Countryman C petrol is expected to get a front-wheel-drive setup.

One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming Countryman C is that it will be assembled at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. Unlike the fully imported Countryman Electric and the flagship JCW Countryman All4, the new petrol variant will be locally built, helping Mini reduce costs and improve value for buyers.

This also makes the Countryman C the second internal combustion version of the latest-generation SUV to arrive in India after the JCW model, but with a much stronger focus on everyday practicality than outright performance.

With local assembly helping keep prices in check, the Mini Countryman C is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will offer buyers a distinctive alternative to entry-level luxury SUVs, while also sharing its underpinnings with the BMW X1.
