Nexon Breaks All Monthly Sales Records to Help Tata Motors Post 47 Percent Growth in Sales for September 2025

Indian automaker Tata Motors has released its car sales results for September 2025. This data outlines that the domestic, total sales and exports of the company experienced a growth. The company has acknowledged that the revision of GST rates in the country has helped it to bounce back in the market. The company has shared that it has managed to sell over sixty thousand units of passenger vehicles (PVs) in the Indian market last month.

The data shared by Tata Motors highlights that in September 2025, the company sold - 17,800 units of CNG vehicles. However the spotlight in the data was on the company’s popular SUV, Nexon. The company shared that last month it managed to sell 22,500 units of the Tata Nexon, which is also the best ever sales achieved by this SUV till date. With this The Nexon has also become the best-selling SUV in India ahead of the Hyundai Creta which also managed its best ever sales in September of 18,861 units. This record set by Nexon aided has benefitted greatly by the GST price revision recently done by the government.

Last month Tata Motors managed to sell a total of 60,907 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure represents a rise in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 19,594 units which further translates into a 47.42 percent growth in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Tata Motors posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 41,313 units.

Last month Tata Motors managed to sell 59,667 units of passenger vehicles domestically in the Indian market. This sales figure represents a year-on-year rise in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 18,604 units which further translates into a 45.30 percent growth in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Tata Motors posted a domestic passenger vehicle sales of 41,063 units.

Last month Tata Motors sold 9,191 units of electric passenger vehicles. This sales figure represents a year-on-year rise in electric passenger vehicles sales by 4,511 units which further translates into a 96.33 percent growth in year-on-year electric passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Tata Motors had posted electric vehicle sales of 4,680 units.

In September 2025 Tata Motors exported 1,240 units of passenger vehicles from India. This represents a year-on-year increase in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 990 units which further translates into a 396 percent year-on-year growth in monthly passenger vehicle exports. In September 2024 Tata Motors exported 250 units of passenger vehicles.
