Renault Triber Turbo Launched in India: Top 5 Highlights

The Renault Triber Turbo is available in three variants: Evolution Turbo, Techno Turbo and Emotion Turbo. Prices range from Rs 7.85 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, making the turbo version up to Rs 1.1 lakh more expensive than the naturally aspirated model. Dual-tone colour options are available for an additional Rs 21,000.

The biggest update is the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The HR10 engine produces 100hp and 180Nm of peak torque in the Triber, which is higher than its torque output in the Kiger and Duster.

A 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard and sends power to the front wheels. A CVT automatic option is expected to be added to the range at a later stage.

Despite the additional performance, Renault claims that the Triber Turbo manual can deliver an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 21kmpl. The MPV is also claimed to accelerate from 0-100kmph in 10.8 seconds.

The Triber Turbo is the first Renault India model to use the new Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP). It also gets a new Renault Engine Management System (R-EMS) designed to improve engine response, performance and efficiency.

Renault has made several other engineering changes, including revised suspension geometry, front and rear anti-roll bars, MTV damper technology, improved braking calibration and structural enhancements. The setup has also been tuned for Indian road conditions.

The Triber Turbo gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital LED instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.

The MPV also gets independent AC vents for the second and third rows, front parking sensors, a rear-view camera, TPMS and a Smart Access Card. Safety features include six airbags and 21 safety features as standard.
