Renault has revealed the Bridger concept, previewing a new sub-4 metre SUV for the Indian market. The production version of the model is scheduled to arrive in 2027 and will be positioned between the Kiger and the next-generation Duster in Renault’s India portfolio.
The Bridger will be produced in India and will be introduced here first before being exported to other markets. The Bridger will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, with high levels of localisation.

Renault Bridger Concept: Platform

The Bridger will be based on Renault’s Global Modular Platform (RGMP), which also underpins the upcoming next-generation Duster. The SUV is expected to measure under four metres in length.
Renault has not revealed interior images yet, but the company states that the production model will offer 200 mm of rear knee room and a boot capacity of 400 litres. The cabin layout is expected to focus on maximising space within the compact footprint.

Renault Bridger Concept: Powertrain

Renault has confirmed that the Bridger will follow a multi-energy strategy. The SUV will be offered with internal combustion, hybrid and electric powertrain options depending on the market.
Petrol options are expected to include a 1.0L turbocharged engine, while reports indicate a possible 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine as well. Renault has also indicated the possibility of introducing an E-Tech hybrid version. Renault has stated that electric powertrain is also on the cards for the production version of the Bridger.

Renault Bridger Concept: Design

The Renault Bridger concept gets a neo-retro SUV design with upright and boxy proportions. The front fascia of the Bridger concept features rectangular LED headlamps with DRLs and illuminated Renault wordmark. The front bumper sports a skid plate which prioritises style over function.
The side profile of the Bridger concept sports squared wheel arches, short overhangs and a tall stance. The concept rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. A flat roofline with roof rails and blacked-out pillars are also visible.
At the rear, the Bridger concept features vertically oriented LED tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. This design element is uncommon in the sub-4 metre SUV segment and gives the concept a distinct rear profile.

Renault Bridger Concept: Potential Rivals

The production version of the Renault Bridger concept will be introduced in the sub-4M SUV segment in India. It is expected to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Skoda Kylaq, Kia Syros.
