Simple Energy has confirmed that it will unveil its first family-focused electric scooter on September 2nd 2026, marking the company's entry into India's largest electric scooter segment. The upcoming model will expand the Bengaluru-based EV maker's portfolio beyond performance-oriented offerings and target buyers looking for a practical scooter for daily commuting.
The new electric scooter is expected to rival established products including the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, Hero Vida V2 and the Ola S1 range. The launch also reflects the company's strategy to strengthen its presence in the volume-driven family scooter category.

Platform & Technology

Simple Energy says the upcoming electric scooter has been developed through its in-house research and development programme. The company is also the first Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to commercially produce heavy rare earth-free electric motors and currently offers a lifetime warranty on both the motor and battery.

Expected Price & Launch

The Simple OneS is currently priced at Rs 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The new family electric scooter is expected to be positioned below it. The upcoming electric scooter from Simple Energy is expected to be priced between Rs 1.30 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ezxpected Battery, Range & Performance

Simple Energy is expected to equip the new scooter with a smaller battery pack than the 3.7 kWh unit available on the Simple OneS. Instead of outright performance, the powertrain is likely to be tuned for efficiency and urban commuting. The family electric scooter is expected to deliver an IDC-certified range of around 120 km to 150 km on a single charge.
The company recently introduced the Simple Ultra, which claims an IDC-certified range of 400 km, and says the experience gained from developing its existing products has contributed to the new scooter's development.

Expected Design

Unlike the sporty styling of the Simple One range, the upcoming scooter is expected to feature a more conventional design aimed at family buyers. The focus is likely to be on practicality, comfort and ease of use, while a spacious under-seat storage compartment is expected to improve everyday usability. The scooter is also expected to be underpinned by a new platform developed specifically for this segment.
