Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has commenced production of the Slavia facelift at its Chakan facility in Pune. The Slavia facelift is expected to reach dealerships this festive season, when car purchases typically see increased activity. The Slavia has sold nearly 80,000 units in India since its launch back in 2021.
Skoda Slavia Facelift Production Begins in India
Skoda Slavia facelift production has begun at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's Chakan facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The company operates two manufacturing plants in India with a combined annual production capacity of 3,15,000 vehicles. The company's Technology Centre in Pune supports localisation, engineering and product development activities for Indian and international markets.
New Skoda Slavia Facelift: What's New?
The Skoda Slavia facelift continues with the existing 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine but will now be available with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This replaces the previous 6-speed automatic gearbox paired with the 1.0 TSI powertrain.
The Slavia facelift also gets several new equipment additions. These include a rear-seat massage function, which Skoda describes as a segment-first feature, along with a 360-degree Area View camera. The infotainment system has also been updated and now features an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. The Slavia facelift will continue to offer its existing focus on safety, practicality and driving dynamics with the addition of 360-degree camera and rear-seat massage function and more.
