New Audi Q3 Local Assembly Begins Ahead of India Launch on October 16

The Indian division of the German luxury and sports carmaker Audi has today announced the commencement of local assembly of the all-new Q3 at the SAVWIPL plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Unveiled in the country last month, the new Q3 is scheduled to launch in the Indian market on October 16th 2026.

Leading up to the launch Audi confirmed that the India-spec model will come equipped with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and will also sport the company’s signature ‘Quattro’ all-wheel drive system. The company has also stated that the SUV will feature a range of segment-first features and technologies.

The start of local assembly is an important step ahead of the Q3's market launch. The SUV is being produced at the SAVWIPL plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, which is also part of the group's manufacturing operations in India.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has stated that the start of production highlights the capabilities of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility and the group's commitment to its brands in India.

Audi had kicked open the bookings for the all-new Q3 in India earlier this month. Customers can book the new Q3 SUV via Audi India’s official website or via myAudi Connect application or by visiting authorised Audi India dealerships across the country.

Audi has confirmed a 2.0-litre petrol engine for the new Q3, paired with its quattro all-wheel-drive system. However, the company has not revealed the engine's power and torque figures in the latest announcement.

Audi India is expected to introduce the new Q3 SUV with a starting ex-showroom price ranging between Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh. Following its launch the new Q3 will compete with SUVs like BMW X1 LWB, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Toyota Fortuner and others.
