Suzuki XL7 Facelift Debuts at Indonesia Auto Show 2026, Likely to Inspire 6-Seater Maruti XL6 Update
Japanese automaker Suzuki has showcased the facelifted XL7 MPV at the Indonesia Auto Show 2026. The XL7 is a 7-seater MPV and the sibling of the XL6. Both these MPVs are based on the Ertiga and share the same platform as well. The XL7 facelift offers a glimpse of what Maruti Suzuki XL6 facelift could bring to our market.
While the Indonesian-market XL7 features a seven-seat layout, it shares its platform and overall design with the India-spec XL6, making the latest updates relevant for Indian buyers. The facelift introduces revised styling, additional convenience features and subtle cabin enhancements, while retaining the existing powertrain. Here’s everything you want to know about the XL7 and which all updates can be carried over to the XL6 facelift.
Suzuki XL7: Design
The facelifted XL7 receives its biggest visual changes at the front. Suzuki has redesigned the grille with a larger gloss-black mesh pattern, accompanied by a revised front bumper featuring C-shaped side elements that give the MPV a more upright appearance.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, although the facelift adds black-finished 16-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, ORVMs and door handles on higher variants. The SUV-inspired body cladding continues, while the rear gets only minor bumper revisions. Suzuki has also introduced new exterior paint options, including an Ice Grayish Blue shade paired with a contrasting black roof.
Suzuki XL7: Features
On the inside, the cabin layout of the XL7 remains familiar but benefits from new metallic dark silver trim on the dashboard and door panels. The Indonesia-spec XL7 now comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Depending on the variant, the MPV also gets a 360-degree camera, Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Arkamys-tuned audio system, automatic climate control and other convenience features. The Indonesian XL7 continues with a seven-seat configuration, while the India-spec XL6 is expected to retain its signature second-row captain seats.
Suzuki XL7: Engine
Suzuki has carried forward the 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine for the Indonesian market. It is offered with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission, while higher variants continue with Suzuki's Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) mild-hybrid system.
For India, the updated XL6 is expected to continue using the 1.5L K15C petrol engine available on the current model. The premium MPV is also likely to retain both petrol and CNG powertrain options, paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Suzuki XL7: Safety
The updated XL7 adds a 360-degree camera and Digital Video Recorder on select variants. The India-spec XL6 is expected to continue offering six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera on higher trims.
