Tata Sierra EV India Launch on June 30: Here's What to Expect

Indian automaker Tata Motors is all set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in the country with the launch of the much-awaited Sierra EV on June 30th 2026. Tata Motors has showcased the Sierra EV on several occasions and the upcoming model will become the seventh EV from the automaker in the domestic market.

The Sierra EV is expected to be positioned between the Curvv EV and the recently launched Harrier EV in the company’s EV lineup. In terms of competition, the Sierra EV is likely to take on the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, MG ZS EV and others.

The production-spec Sierra EV is expected to retain the overall silhouette of the ICE version while incorporating several EV-specific styling elements. These are likely to include a blanked-off front grille, redesigned bumpers and aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels.

Other expected highlights include connected LED daytime running lamps, split headlamp clusters, flush-fitting door handles and a full-width LED light bar at the rear. The SUV is also expected to carry Tata's '.ev' branding, while continuing to draw inspiration from the iconic original Sierra.

On the inside the Sierra EV is likely to get a technology-focused cabin with a layered dashboard design. Higher variants are expected to feature a triple-screen setup comprising a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a dedicated passenger-side display. Lower trims could be offered with a dual-screen layout like the ICE Sierra.

The feature list is expected to include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, connected car technology and ambient lighting. Tata is also likely to offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera and a powered tailgate.

On the safety front, top-spec variants could be equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a head-up display and multiple drive modes.

Although Tata Motors has not yet revealed the official specifications of the upcoming Sierra EV, it is expected to share its battery technology with the Harrier EV. It can be introduced with multiple battery pack options including 55 kWh, 65 kWh and possibly a larger 75 kWh unit for higher variants. The standard versions are expected to use a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, while top-end trims could feature a dual-motor quad-wheel-drive setup. The upcoming Sierra EV is anticipated to boast a range of over 500km on a single charge.

The Tata Sierra EV is scheduled to be launched in India on June 30, 2026. The electric SUV is expected to be introduced in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. Tata Motors can also introduce the Sierra EV with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model which could lower the initial sticker price.
