Tata Sierra Launching Tomorrow in India: Here's What To Expect
Tata Sierra Design
The upcoming Tata Sierra shifts to a five-door format while retaining a straight-lined, upright stance. It features a full-width LED light bar at the front, projector headlamps, flush-type door handles and a black roof panel that nods to the original model.
The side section includes roof rails, black body cladding and 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets connected tail-lamps and a dual-tone bumper. A blacked-out area between the pillars visually replaces the signature curved glass of the earlier Sierra.
Tata Sierra Interior and Features
The cabin uses a black-and-grey theme and houses three 12.3-inch screens—one for the driver display, one for infotainment and one for the front passenger. The steering wheel is similar to the unit seen on newer Tata vehicles and carries touch-based controls.
Key features include a panoramic sunroof extending towards the C-pillar, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera and an electronic parking brake. Level-2 ADAS functions are also expected.
Tata Sierra Engine Options
-A 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol
-A new 1.5L turbo-petrol, expected to produce around 170 bhp and 280Nm, paired with a manual or a 7-speed DCT
-A 1.5L diesel expected to deliver about 118 bhp and 260Nm, with manual and automatic options
Tata Sierra Safety Features
Expected safety equipment includes six airbags, ESC, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. Teaser material suggests lane-departure warning, indicating Level-2 ADAS support.
Tata Sierra Expected Price and Rivals
Tata Motors is expected to price the new Sierra from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The model will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Tata Curvv and Maruti Victoris.
