GST Rate Cut: Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun, Tiguan R-Line Witness Price Reduction in India
Volkswagen has announced price reductions for three of its models in India - Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan R-Line - following the government's GST revision. The automaker is passing on the full benefits of this tax revision to customers, effective September 22, 2025. Price cuts range from Rs 66,900 for the Virtus to Rs 3,26,900 for the Tiguan R-Line. German automaker Volkswagen has announced a price cut for three of its models in the Indian market. This development comes in following the revision of Goods and Services Tax (GST) by the government.
In a recent update Volkswagen has shared that it has decided to pass on the entire benefits of the GST revision on vehicles in India to the customers. As a result the company has announced a price cut for select variants of the Virtus, Taigun and Tiguan R-Line. According to the information shared by the company, the change in prices of VW cars is scheduled to come into effect from September 22nd 2025.
However the company has requested customers to connect with the authorised VW dealerships for exact price and details of benefits being offered by the company on these models.
The company has also announced additional benefits maximum of which can account from Rs 1.61 to 3 lakh on select variants of these three models.

The information shared by the company outlines that it is offering GST benefits of up to Rs 66,900 on the Virtus. The Taigun is being offered with GST benefits of up to Rs 68,400. The Taigun R-Line is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 3,26,900.
Volkswagen Virtus
The Volkswagen Virtus is a compact sedan which is currently offered with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 10.54 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered with two engine options - the 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engine and the 1.0L TSI turbo petrol engine.
Volkswagen Taigun
The Taigun is a compact SUV which shares its platform with the Virtus and is offered with similar engine options. It comes with the 1.0L TSI turbo petrol engine and the 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engine. The Taigun currently comes with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 10.99 lakh.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line
The Tiguan R-Line is the souped up version of the midsize SUV which is currently offered with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 48.99 lakh. It comes with a 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine producing 201.2 bhp and 320 Nm of torque.
