JSW MG Motor India sold 6,728 units in September 2025, marking a 34% year-on-year increase. The rise in sales was supported by GST reduction and early festive season demand.

Indian division of British Automaker MG Motor, In September 2025 managed to sell 6,728 units in India representing a Year-on-Year growth of 34% when compared to 5,021 units sold in September 2024. The company said that sales momentum was supported by the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reduction on vehicles and the onset of the Navratri festive period.
In August 2025, MG Motor India sold 6,578 passenger vehicles in the domestic market reflecting Y-o-Y growth of 52% when compared to 4,323 units sold in August 2024.
Impact of GST Reduction
The GST cut provided price benefits to customers across MG’s internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle portfolio. The reduction ranged from Rs 54,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh, impacting models such as the Astor, Hector and Gloster.
Performance of EVs and Luxury Segment
MG’s electric vehicle portfolio, including the Comet EV and Windsor EV, continued to show steady demand. The Comet achieved its highest sales so far in calendar year 2025. The Windsor also recorded its best-ever monthly wholesale numbers since its launch.
In the luxury EV segment, MG Select, the company’s dedicated retail channel, became the second-largest brand by sales, according to VAHAN data. The lineup under this channel includes the MG Cyberster and MG M9 Presidential Limousine.
Product and Retail Network
At present, JSW MG Motor India’s product range in India includes eight models, five of which are electric: Comet EV, Windsor EV, ZS EV, Cyberster and M9. Its ICE models are Astor, Hector (Hector Plus) and Gloster. The company has expanded its retail and service network to 543 outlets across 260 cities in India.
